At last week’s October Board meeting, the Board of Education approved a more stringent Student Attendance Policy, which goes into effect immediately. A copy of the policy is attached for your review: https://5il.co/3rd9t. Parents will be invited to an upcoming attendance meeting with Mr. Taylor (Venice Truancy Officer), ROE Truancy Officer Tim Rhymer, and myself in the coming weeks. The Venice Board of Education and I are pleased to inform you that all students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 will return to school on Monday, August 25th and we will be operating at normal hours.
All Pre-Kindergaten students will now have to enter school through the main doors in the front of the school rather than to Pre-K entrance. The Pre-Kindergarten entrance will be closed.
Please be assured that the safety and well being of your children and our staff remain our highest priority. We are grateful for your patience, understanding and support as we take every precaution to maintain a safe learning environment for all.

1. NO DRESS DOWN FRIDAYS Students will be required to wear their uniforms Monday through Friday. Uniforms only.
2. NO SNACKS To help minimize distractions in the classroom and keeping our new school clean, students will not be allowed to bring in snacks from home. Snacks will be provided to students at certain grade levels by the school.
3. NO TRANSPORTATION CHANGES AFTER 2 PM There will be no transportation changes, this includes bus riders and car riders, made to students travel arrangements daily after 2 PM. Please notify the school of any transportation changes before 2 PM!

Bus transportation will begin at 8:15 AM and your child will be dropped off to your place of residence between 2:00 PM and 2:45 PM.
